Swagman XC2 Bike Rack Review - 2024 Hyundai Tucson- Video
How's it going, neighbors This is Ed with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Swagman E-SPEC Bike Carrier on our 2024 Hyundai Tucson. The E-SPEC is a frame-mounted bike carrier, so your padded hook is gonna make contact with your top tube. If you have a carbon fiber bike or a bike with a nice paint job where you didn't want to have contact, or even a unconventional bike like a step through, this may not be the best option for you right out the gate. You're also secured using cradles on the front and rear that strap into place to stabilize your bike to the back of the vehicle. The E-SPEC has locking handles as far as your hooks that mount to your bike, so that's another cool thing that's gonna keep everything nice and secure. Let's take our bike off of the carrier and we can take a closer look at some of the features. more

The Okanagan is a wheel mounted bike carrier that's going to allow you to transport your bike without making any contact to your top tube. So if you have a carbon fiber bike or an unconventional frame, you'll be able to make use of the bike carrier without making contact to your actual frame. And with our XL frame bike, you can see even shaking the carrier, you're not in any risk of making contact with the back of your vehicle. So let's take a look at our tilt. How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the XTC2 TILT from Swagman on our 2024 Hyundai Tucson. Our carrier is a frame-mounted bike carrier, so it's actually contacts right here on the top tube and on your front and rear wheel. So if you have a bike that's a little bit nicer or unconventional frame, you may have issues as far as using this carrier and getting the most out of securing your bike. An observation I made while taking a look at the XTC2 is the fact that it is kind of a small carrier. This is actually a small frame bike here. We tried to load a XL frame mountain bike and it just simply too large to fit on the inside and the small is still gonna make contact with the back of your tailgate and your handlebars can come close to your window. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Hyundai Tucson- Video
How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 base on our 2023 Hyundai Tucson. So when you take a look at the NV 2.0, you notice that it secures your bike by the wheels 'cause it is a wheel-mounted carrier, and that's gonna work for the person that's looking for a bike carrier that's not gonna make contact with their frame. So if you have a carbon fiber frame or a bike with a special paint job, step through unconventional frame, any one of those things, this is gonna be what you want to go for for the best, secure fit. And then on the rear, you're gonna have a single strap that goes between your spokes and keeps everything stable and connected on the very rear. At the end of our cradle here, you also have your included cable lock to secure your bike to the carrier itself. Overall with Kuat, as far as where they land with quality, I would say that they're on the higher, better, more refined, more premium end. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Hyundai Tucson- Video
How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're gonna take a look at the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE on the back of a 2023 Hyundai Tucson. So the Sport Rider is a frame-mounted bike carrier, so that means you're gonna have contact with the upper frame and it's also gonna secure your bike using straps with the loops on the front and rear wheel. Essentially what that's gonna do for you is, it's gonna stabilize your bike, but it does make contact with the frame. So if you have a bike that's a carbon fiber frame or something with a nice paint job or maybe even an unconventional frame bike, this may not be the best option. You might wanna look towards a wheel mount. However, on the back of our Tucson, this is gonna work pretty well, and we're gonna take a little bit closer look at some of the features by removing the bike from the carrier. more

The Sherpa is super popular with Tucson owners because it is lightweight, it's compact, it has all those premium features you would expect. It doesn't have as much capacity in terms of weight and size as the Kuat NV does, but for most of your bikes, this will be more than enough. Now it does have some limitations, but overall it has a great weight capacity, fits bikes that are different shapes and sizes, plus it looks and it feels good. On the Hyundai Tucson is also a good fit in terms of good ground clearance, as well as giving you some nice features like access to your hatch, even with the bikes on. Now this will be a great choice if you're looking for a premium option that can hold a lot of your carbon or alternative frame bikes. Now what's gonna give you that ability is this dual wheel mount system we have and it's just gonna grip on to either side of the tire holding your bike in place. Now we're gonna have a 40 pound weight capacity per bike holding up to three bikes. Now unfortunately we won't be able to accommodate our really heavy e-bikes, but this is a really heavy rack in general. So loading that up with heavy bikes would be a real handful for your vehicle. more

This is the Hollywood Racks Destination 4 hitch-mounted bike rack that we've installed on our 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe. Now the Destination 4 is gonna be a platform-style bike rack, and it does have a curved platform to it, so that's gonna accept more different wheel bases on your bikes. Now just to note, this does make frame contact primarily. So if you are a little sensitive about your carbon fiber bike frames, this may not be the rack for you. more

Now, this is gonna be a excellent choice if you're looking for something that's gonna haul those heavy e-bikes and it's gonna have an arm ramp to make it a lot easier for you. Since this carrier can carry our heavier e-bikes it's gonna be able to hold up to 66 pounds per bike holding two bikes. Now I'd recommend, when you do get your bikes up here, just taking off your batteries, maybe either storing 'em in your bed or somewhere else in your vehicle. And one of the nice things about the Destination here is that it works really well with kids' bikes, so it's one that I personally recommend for people looking for a family bike rack all the time. Now, some things to know about how it holds the bikes, we've got two wheel straps on the bottom that hold the bike down and in, that's gonna give it most of its stability. And then the bike is being held upright by our frame cradle here with a strapper on the frame. more

Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Rack's Destination E-bike rack, and seeing how it fits in the back of our 2023 Hyundai Palisade. This is gonna be an excellent option for carrying your E-bikes because it has a 70 pound capacity per bike, so good for some heavier E-bikes. And one of my favorite things about this is how easy it's to operate, anywhere from the tilting to the included ramp that we'll all see in a bit. I do wanna talk about some of the bikes this we'll work with besides E-bikes because it does have a clamp that holds onto the frame up top here. It's not gonna be the best fit for carbon frame bikes, but because that clamp can move around and rotate 360 degrees, it's gonna work fine for any alternative frame bikes. more

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at Etrailer, and today, we have the Swagman XC 2 two bike platform rack. We'll take a look at how it fits on our 2022 Hyundai Tucson. Now, with the Swagman XC 2, it's actually really popular as a bike rack, mainly because it's an entry level rack, so entry level price, very affordable, but it gives you the stability of having a platform rack. Now, when you do use it with different vehicles, it works differently too, and the main thing here with the Tucson is with the hitch on this, I could not get this bike onto the closest tray without the pedals hitting the bumper or the door. So my clearance was very limited, so that's somethin' to be mindful. Now, if you have the smaller pedals, and we have those clip shoes, then you might be fine, but that's just somethin' to give you as a heads up. more

So the Kuat Transfer is actually really, really popular because it has this unique goalpost design that allows you to step into the rack to load and unload your bikes. Also, it is a more entry-level bike rack, if you like a Kuat rack 'cause they're really good at making racks, but you don't wanna pay that premium price as you would for a Kuat NV, the Kuat Transfer is a great alternative. Now, for the Tucson, there are some things though that are worth considering. One is that the Transfer does not tilt down very far. more

Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the Kuat Transfer V2 Three-Bike Platform Rack. We'll take a look at how it fits our 2023 Hyundai Palisade. So the Transfer V2 is a popular rack because it is a Kuat Transfer Rack, which many people like for its design as well as stability, but this is gonna be a more entry level, but also with a unique feature where you can make it easier for you to load and unload your bikes. There are some downsides to this rack though especially with the Hyundai Palisade. For example, the Palisade does have a large hatch and the Transfer has a pretty shallow level of tilt away. So if I needed to tilt the bike rack away and I wanted to get into the hatch, notice here that with only one bike loaded, I can put these arms off to the side. more

Hi, everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com, and today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Saris MHS Platform-Style Bike Rack here on our 2020 Hyundai Palisade. Now, the MHS is gonna hold the bike in this tray and by each tire. We have these two arms ratcheted down and holding it pre-firmly in place here. I like this style of holding the bike personally, I think it's easiest to load and unload, and overall, it's a really good design, it's a really strong design. Like other platform-style bike racks in this class, you do have the ability to tilt it away with the bikes loaded. We've got this handle here at the end that we can just grab and pull and let this down. more

So if you have a family with three kids then this is gonna be a good option because most other racks out there can't accommodate five bikes. In this case, it means we have two wheel hooks ratcheting down over the top of each tire, really anywhere along the tire that it makes good contact and having secondary points of contact on each of those cradles in the form of wheel straps. And the result is actually a really firm hold although there is a little bit of movement here at the pivot point of the bike rack. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination four bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe. This is gonna be a pretty entry level platform style bike rack. Certainly not all kinds of bells and whistles to it and there's some things about it that are a little bit clunky. But to get you started in the world of bike racks especially platform style bike racks, it's gonna be one of your better options and one of my personal favorites at this price point. So you can carry up to four bikes with this and each bike can weigh up to 35 pounds. more

CURT Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe- Video
Hi, everyone, Aidan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Curt Premium and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe. This is gonna be a hanging-style bike rack, and what that means is the bike hangs by the frame. Two attachment points up top with straps holding it down on the cradles and a third one on the seat post, keeping our sway down to a minimum. It doesn't entirely eliminate it, especially these rubber straps, they've got a bit of stretch to them, so it doesn't completely fix the problem, but it will help with bike to bike contact as you're going down the road. Hanging-style bike racks inherently are gonna have a few more limitations to them, and this one is no different. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe- Video
Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat NV Base 2.0 and seeing how it fits in the back of our 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe. This is gonna be a platform style bike rack and one of the nicer ones at that. This is going to be able to hold up to two bikes up to 60 pounds each, so good for some of your e-bikes and it holds bikes by our front tire, primarily using this wheel hook. The wheel hook is a big deal because it doesn't make any frame contact on the bike so it's going to be a great option for carbon frame bikes as well as alternative frame bikes. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe- Video
Hi, everyone, Aidan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro Hanging-Style Bike Rack and seeing how it fits in the back of our 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe. Now, it's gonna be a pretty solid rack if you're looking for something simple and easy to carry four bikes. The ease of use might be a little bit of an overstatement, there's some things about this that do make it kind of hard to use depending on the bikes you're loading up, but we'll talk about all that in a second. It's a great way to get started though, carrying up to four bikes, 35 pounds each. Now, the reason I say it might be a little bit difficult is because it's a hanging rack, and with any sort of hanging-style bike rack, there's going to be limitations. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe- Video
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we'll be taking a look at how the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 two-bike platform rack fits on the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe. So the Sherpa is very popular because it is a stylish rack, it has really smooth movements, and it can fit a lot of bikes. Now there are some downsides to this like if you have a very heavy electric bike, this has a max weight capacity of 40 pounds, but other than that, it's a really good fit for Hyundai Santa Fe and we'll talk about why. So the first thing we're gonna talk about is the tilt-away feature. There's gonna be this lever in the center of the rack. You're gonna pull that lever and just let the rack drop down to a tilt. more

Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack for Fat Bikes Review - 2020 Hyundai Palisade- Video
Hey guys, Kevin with etrailer, and today we'll gonna be taking a look at the Saris Freedom Bike Rack for two Fat Bikes here on our 2020 Hyundai Palisade. This platform bike rack is going to have a frame mount style, so that means it's going to attach to the bike frame, so you wanna make sure that you don't use this with any carbon fiber bikes or anything where you can actually damage the paint on it. And it's gonna have a 60 pound per bike capacity while in use with a Class 3 hitch. So that's with that two inch adjustment on the shank itself. Now if you take that adjuster off of there and you're using this in a Class 1 hitch and the inch and a quarter style opening then you're only gonna be limited to a 35 per bike capacity. What makes this bike rack stand out from the original Saris Freedom is it's gonna include these fat bike wheel cradles which is going to allow you to install a bike just like our Fat Bike right here. more

Saris Freedom Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2020 Hyundai Palisade- Video
Hey guys, Kevin here with etrailer and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Saris Freedom two bike rack here on our 2020 Hyundai Palisade. This platform style bike rack has easily adjustable wheel cradles as well as a frame mounted clamp which is going to allow you to easily fit a multitude of different frame styles as well as different wheel bases. When you're in a class three hitch with the 2" adapter on the shank of your bike rack, you're gonna be able to hold up to 60 pounds per bike in these wheel cradles. So that's gonna allow you to take your e-bike just like we have right here. Now if you remove that adapter and you need to get down to a class one hitch, so that 1 1/4", you're only gonna have a 35 pound per bike capacity. Now with this bike rack, there is quite a bit of space between the actual bike and your vehicle so you don't have to worry about that really banging up against the back of the vehicle. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp on the back of our 2022 Hyundai Tucson. So this is gonna be a platform style bike rack designed to carry e-bikes. Like the name suggests, it does come included with a ramp so it's easy to load and unload your e-bikes. It's got a 66 pound capacity per bike, so it's more than capable of handling even some heavier e-bikes. Just keep in mind that weight capacity when you are using it. more

Hi there, Kona Hunters. Today we're gonna be taking a look at Malone's Runaway two-bike platform rack on our 2022 Hyundai Kona. And here we can see our platform rack. We do have both a rear and a front place and you can carry two bikes on this. You can see it is clamped by the frame and we have cradles on each side to hold the wheels in place. There's a rubber coating on our clamp so that way we don't cause any scratches or abrasions to our bike. more

Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Hyundai Palisade- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp on our 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The OnRamp is a platform style bike rack primarily designed to hold e-bikes. It's got a 66 pound weight capacity per bike and it's gonna hold the bike by the frame primarily here. It's a cradle with a strap wrapped around the frame, holding it in place with two wheel straps at the bottom as secondary points of contact. It does hold the bike pretty well in the rack and because it makes frame contact we do wanna avoid carbon frame bikes but these cradles will slide up and down if you loosen it up and rotate 360 degrees so they can accommodate alternative frames pretty well. more

Yakima RidgeBack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Hyundai Palisade- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Yakima RidgeBack on our 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The RidgeBack is a hanging-style bike rack that holds a bike by the frame. It's up in these cradles with two straps over top of that frame, and a third one around our seat post as our anti-sway cradle. That's gonna limit our side to side movement, not fully eliminating it, but definitely helping reducing bike-to-bike contact, or in some cases, bike-to-vehicle contact. You can see our front wheel does like to move around a bit here, and if it we're to move enough, it might make contact with the vehicle. more
